We have 2-3 graduate studentships and 1-2 PhD studentships available each year. Our lab provides students with the interdisciplinary experience in the areas of environmental nanotehcnology & biotechnology.
Examples of projects available to new students including:
·Understanding mechanisms of nanoparticle toxicity at the molecular and whole organism levels
·Identifying the dynamic surface forces between nanoparticles/bubbles and microbes
·Genome-editing approach for bacteria and archaea
·Exploring the biofilms and biodegradation of microplastics in freshwater and marine systems

Now, we have 2 PostDoc positions availabe on Environmental Nanotechnology and Biotechnology.
Environmental Nanotechnology: Understanding mechanisms of nanoparticle toxicity at the molecular and whole organism levels. With the experiences on nanomaterials synthesis or nanoparticle toxicity at different levels of biological organization.
Environmental Biotechnology: Genome-editing of non-classical microbes, such as methanogenic archaea. With the experiences on genetic modification and/or synthetic biology.
